Postcards of Croatia
Croatia is an ancient nation, existing already in the 7th century AD, in 925 AD it was a kingdom, then in 1102 was united to Hungary, and in 1527 to the Habsburg Empire, of which it was a region until the end of the First World War, when it became independent on October 29, 1918 but on December 1, 1918 was united to the newly established Yugoslavia state. It has been independent from Yugoslavia since June 25 1991, so until that date the stamps used were those of Yugoslavia. Some parts bordering Italy were from 1918 to 1947 included in the Italian state.
