Postcards of Trogir

In Italian Traù, an ancient town in Dalmatia originally founded by the Greeks as Tragurion, is situated on a small island between the mainland and the island of Ciovo. Its historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Place: Trogir - the "Traù lions" mentioned in a famous speech of Benito Mussolini - most of the Lions, symbol of the Republic of Venice, were destroyed by order of the Beograd government on 1st and 2nd december 1932 to eradicate any sign of Italian history.
