Postcards of Dubrovnik - page 1

Called Ragusa until 1909, is a historic city in southern Croatia, an important Adriatic resort whose old center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site; the unmistakale profile from the sea shows the huge walls, 1940 mt long, as high as 25 mt, interrupted by 15 defense towers. Another feature of the city is its very mild climate, since the Sdr mountain protects the bay from the northern winds and the Lokrum island from the hot African winds, allowing a rich Mediterranean and subtropical vegetation.
