Terracotta Army, Xi'an, Shaanxi province, China
Description - Also called Qin's Armies, the 8,099 terra cotta figures of warriors and horses, all different and larger than life (heights from 184 to 197 cm), are located near the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor. The incredible discovery was made by a local farmer in 1974 near Xi'an, in the Shaanxi province. The Army was buried with Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi in 210-209 BC with the aim to help their ruler in the afterlife.
