Giant Buddhist statues, Longmen Shiku Grottoes, Henan, China

Description - a group of giant statues, carved in the rocks during the late Northern Wei and Tang Dynasties from 316 to 907 AD, in the center of the image is a huge statue of Buddha. The Longmen Shiku, or Dragon Door Grottoes, are in Central China not far from Xi'an, the ancient imperial capital. There are more than 1300 grottoes containing 40 pagodas, 2780 inscriptions and over 100,000 statues and images.
