Description - Designed by Henry C. Pelton and Charles Collens on the model of Chartes gothic cathedral, was begun in 1927 on one of highest points above sea-level in Manhattan's Upper West Side. It hosts the heaviest and second largest carillon in the world, donated by John D. Rockefeller, Jr. in memory of his mother, which is played each Sunday at 3:00 pm. In this church Rev. Martin Luther King gave his famous speech "Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break Silence" on 4 April 1967.
