Monument November 27, 1871, Havana, Cuba

Description - The monument is one of the most impressive inside the Colón cemetery, and commemorates the execution of eight students of medicine on 27 November 1871. The students had been arrested 2 days before on the false charge of having violated the tomb Spanish leader Don Gonzalo de Castañón, they were sentenced to death by shooting. November 27 is a national festival in Cuba.
